In 2006 my Dad passed away from esophageal cancer. The disease gave nearly no symptoms until it was too late. On-road bike riding is my hobby and passion, so it was a natural fit when a year ago the cancer center at The Ohio State University, The James, joined with a group to create the Pelotonia. This is an annual bicycle ride of various lengths up to 180 miles, and all the donations go directly to The James. Last year I rode 100 miles from The Ohio State University to Ohio University in Athens Ohio, in 6 hours and 20 minutes. This was just slightly slower than Lance Armstrong who completed the course in less than 4 hours. In 2010 I will again be riding 100 miles. If you wish to fight cancer like I do, then please go to the Pelotonia.org website and donate. You can donate in my name and rider number (5486) and I will send you updates up to the tour and my results afterward. Together, lets see if we can kill this disease.
